Alex has a new solo project called The Consulate General. The debut album, Person Number, features guests Antoine Bédard (Montag), John Chao (Misha), Ryan Fritch (Sole & the Skyrider Band), and Simon Scott (Slowdive). It’s now available on iTunes, Amazon, and other digital stores. Listen to the first single “What Time Is It Now” after the cut, which features Montag on backing vocals. Capital Public Radio KXJZ live radio performance

For the end of our tour, Kenji and I were invited to KXJZ in Sacramento to perform a live set on Capital Public Radio. We prepared special “unplugged” versions for a few of the songs. Our favorite is the closer, a drum-machine + organ duet version of “Starlet.” The full show is mixed in with a few album cuts as well as interview with CPR’s Nick Brunner. West Coast tour photos

Kenji has rounded up a bunch of photos from our recent West Coast tour, saying “Alex and i headed out on the road to play some rock music around the western parts of the usa. we jumped into our rental in berkeley, ca, played a bunch of shows under strange/awesome/frightening circumstances, and returned 3400 miles wiser.” Giant teapots, telephone mics, roadside burgers, and more. Limited run shirts available

We did a limited run of shirts for our West Coast tour (which kicks off next week!). Each one is hand screen-printed on a unique thrift-store found item for a vintage look. So it’s a variety of t-shirts, tank tops, sweatshirt, even a turtleneck. If you live nearby, come to one of the shows to get one (list of dates). Or, if you’d like one shipped to you after the tour, email us and we’ll figure out a way. Some pictures after the cut.

Boy in Static is hitting the road for a run of US dates this August! Eugene, Tacoma, Portland, Seattle, Missoula, Boise, Vegas, Fresno, then back home to SF. We’ll be playing with lots of great bands, including a handful of dates with Boy Eats Drum Machine (Tacoma, Seattle, SF), an opening slot for Nico Vega (Fresno), and a great final show with Blue Sky Black Death (SF).
