Noise Pop at Apple Store pictures

Boy in Static at Apple Store Noise Pop showThe Noise Pop show at the Apple Store, my first gig as a “local” Bay Area band, was a very warm welcome. The room was packed even for our soundcheck. And my t-shirt color choice inadvertently disguised me as an Apple Store employee. It was the first time we’ve featured flute live. We played just before Yoni Wolf (of Why?), who brought a moving solo set on a Rhodes piano. Two different photographers, Matthew Kowal and Jonathan Hung, sent over a lot of nice photos. Check them out and read more after the cut.

For this show, I was joined by Brindalyn Webster on flute and xylophone. (Kenji, the other half of Boy in Static, is living in Boston.) We performed the title track from the new album “Candy Cigarette” for the first time live. I also created some video backdrops to play on the Apple Store’s fancy projection system. Many thanks to Terrorbird, XLR8R, and Noise Pop for setting it up.

This first set of pictures was taken by Matthew Kowal. Please credit/link him if you grab these photos. He has some great images and video projects at www.kowalabearhugs.com.
