The first digital single from the new album is out, “Young San Francisco,” a song for t-shirt weather. It comes with three fun remixes. Remixers: First, my friend Antoine aka Montag did a really fun 80’s-electro mix. He says it was inspired by Soft Cell. Very fun. (Tidbit: I did a Boy in Static remix of his song “Alice” last year). Styrofoam delivered a great hard-hitting and quirky remix. Reminds me of the more fun Mouse on Mars tracks. Then Miwon’s remix is gorgeous. Introspective and slower, he meticulously rearranged the violas against a lovely soundscape.

Also, my good friend Liz Enthusiasm of Freezepop sings backing vocals on this song! She sang on another new song on Candy Cigarette as well (along with my friend Hollie Gilson from Mint Julep).

Here’s the album cover for the single. (Grab a large image at Flickr for your iTunes library.) It’s a photo of my Mom in high school in Taiwan. She was at my house scanning a ton of old family photos, and we came across this one as I was preparing album artwork. It fit nicely.
